The Harvest the Future scholarship was started in Cattaraugus County because agriculture is the foundation of many of our communities. Investing in students who have been involved in agriculture and may be pursuing careers in agriculture is an investment into the future of what many of our communities are. By recognizing students who support agriculture, our hope is to encourage a commitment to agriculture in younger generations to keep it as a strong and thriving part of our community for years to come.

High School seniors located in Cattaraugus County are invited to enter the Harvest the Future Ag Scholarship Essay Contest sponsored by The Pillittere Group. Essay topic will change each year.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a high school senior residing in Cattaraugus County

Committed to a career supporting agriculture and rural communities
Application Process

Complete the official entry form and return to Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism

Application must be signed by a school official or guidance counselor

Write an essay. The essay should be at least a page (no more than two) in length, discussing the years question topic.
