2014 Alpaca Farm Days

Alpacas are friendly!

Looking for an outing?  National Alpaca Farm Days is September 27th and 28th where alpaca farms nationwide will open their farms to the public.  This is a great time to get out to alpaca farms and learn about alpacas, their background, their fleece and what can be done with it, the products the fleece makes, the tax benefits to owning alpacas, costs of raising alpacas, and of course, the babies or crias as they are called.  Most farms will be open between 9-5  both days.

LadySong Farm in Randolph will be open both days, with products available for sale including alpaca jerky and snack sticks.  Also, handcrafters will be visiting to demonstrate spinning, weaving, dyeing and more!  Visit their website or Facebook  for specific information on the Farm and store.  Also, 10% of every sale made that weekend will be donated to the Steamburg Volunteer Fire Department as a fund raiser.

A Slice of Heaven Alpacas in Randolph will be open both days, and are having drawings for
     1. A pair of alpaca slippers
     2. An alpaca bear
     3. An alpaca blanket
Enter all weekend for the winners drawn at 5pm on Sunday!  Chili, cider, donuts and coffee will be available for sale, with ALL proceeds going the to Randolph Community Cupboard. Visit their websitefor more specific information on the Farm.

Sugartown Farms in Ellicottville will be open both days from 10 to 5.  Come see and pet some of their alpacas or stop by the farm store for a large variety of alpaca products!  This year Sugartown had 13 cria (babies), so there will be lots of little ones to see!  Visit their website for more specific information on the Farm.

Mager Mountain Alpacas in Little Valley will be open both days.  They have 8 new alpaca babies of all colors for visitors to enjoy. The So Soft Gift Shop is also freshly stocked with the latest in Alpaca fashions including many items hand spun and hand knitted using fleece from our own animals. Visitors will also be treated to watching an alpaca obstacle course and meet ‘Tony’, the friendly alpaca! There will also be old fashion spinning demonstrations throughout the weekend.  Visit their website for more specific information on the Farm.
