Farm Bureau in conjunction with the Town of Pomfret Planning Board has arranged a meeting for interested parties to learn more about solar leasing. The meeting will be held in the Fredonia High School Auditorium at 425 E. Main St., Fredonia, NY at 7pm on Monday, May 23. This meeting is for farmers and rural landowners who may be considering leasing land for large, multi-acre solar arrays and is also for those who work with landowners. Topics which will be addressed include the pros and cons of leasing your acreage to a solar generator and the agricultural assessment of farmland as it relates to leasing. We have enlisted the help of a local attorney practicing in various areas of environmental law who understands the need to protect landowner rights. Also joining us is a presenter from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.
A similar meeting will be held on June 15 in Yorkshire, NY. Please contact Tim Bigham at 716-474-6585 for further information. No reservation is required. A separate email will be sent prior to the Yorkshire meeting.
