The Cornell University Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners in Cattaraugus County will host “Gardening Day” for interested gardeners of all levels of experience, on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Ellicottville Town Center / Cooperative Extension Center, 28 Parkside Drive, Ellicottville, NY 14731. The program is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required (see details below).
This year’s program will feature six sessions related to the theme “getting the most out of your garden”. Topics will include square foot gardening, containers and hanging baskets, companion-succession planting, season extenders, soil improvement (weeds, composting, and vermicomposting), and pest and disease management.
