New York State Grown & Certified Agricultural Producers’ Grant Program

State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball announced that eligible applicants can now apply for the $5 million New York State Grown & Certified Agricultural Producers’ Grant Program. Funded through the 2017-18 New York State Budget, the program is part of the Regional Economic Development Councils process. It was created to assist New York State agricultural producers meet food safety standards and join the New York State Grown & Certified program. 

The program will be administered through the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. Block grants of $500,000 will be awarded to a single entity in each of the 10 New York State Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) regions. Eligible applicants include municipalities, regional and local economic development corporations, not-for-profits, public benefit corporations and industrial development agencies.  The awarded entities will distribute the grant funding to New York State agricultural producers in their region. 

The application deadline is Friday, July 28, 2017 at 4 p.m.
