Pimm's View Dairy - Conservation Farm of the Year

Pimm’s View Dairy is located in the Town of Leon and consists of approximately 300 milking cows and operates over 600 acres of cropland.  The operation includes Adelia Pimm Ritter, her husband Kevin, and her parents Fred and Alta Pimm.

The farm was chosen by the Cattaraugus County Soil & Water Conservation District for their outstanding efforts to implement a wide variety of best management practices to improve water quality and enhance soil productivity.  Practices include a bulk silo runoff management project, milk house waste storage tank and pump system, fencing livestock away from streams, and planting cover crops to reduce erosion and improve soil conditions.  They are actively applying a comprehensive nutrient management plan to properly manage and utilize animal wastes and nutrients.  They are also active in the Cattaraugus County Farm Bureau.
