2015 Award Recipient for the Conservation Farm of the Year was Triple R Farms – Robert Spinler & Family.
Triple R Farms, owned and operated by Robert Spinler and family of Randolph, has been awarded the 2015 Conservation Farm of the Year Award by the Cattaraugus County Soil & Water Conservation District.
Triple R Farms has worked extensively for many years with conservation partners including the Conservation District, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and Western NY Crop Management Association to develop and implement a Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan to address agricultural runoff, manure & nutrient management, and soil health improvements on their farm. Through state and federal conservation programs such as Agricultural Environmental Management (AEM), the USDA Environmental Quality Improvement Program (EQIP), and others, Triple R has completed several conservation projects including manure storage, silage leachate management, an animal mortality composting facility at the farmstead, as well as cover crops to reduce erosion and improve soil health conditions on their cropland. They have additional projects planned for the next few years to further protect the environment on and around their farm.
CONGRATULATIONS Spinler Farm!!
